St. John Neumann & other Saints

I picked a Patron Saint for our blog for 2011, it's St. John Neumann.  Today is his feast day!

Since every man of whatever race is endowed with the dignity of a person, he has an inalienable right to an education corresponding to his proper destiny and suited to his native talents, his cultural background, and his ancestral heritage. At the same time, this education should pave the way to brotherly association with other peoples, so that genuine unity and peace on earth may be promoted. For a true education aims at the formation of the human person with respect to the good of those societies of which, as a man, he is a member, and in whose responsibilities, as an adult, he will share. - Saint John Neumann

Jen @ Conversion Diary created software that picks a saint for you.  I used it for the blog saint,  and for our individual saints, I asked Allison @ Totus Tuus to choose.   Here's who was chosen:

Bob ~ Blessed Joseph-Marie Cassant

Jen ~ St. Bonaventure Doctor of the Church

Jacob ~ Blessed Leonie Martin

Jonah ~ St. Veronica

Sarah ~ Blessed Jacinta of Fatima

Anna ~ St. Benedict Joseph Labre

Leah ~ St. Valentine

Levi ~ St. Margaret Mary Alacoque

Hi Jen!
I never thought of choosing a saint for my blog...that's a great idea! I wonder if there is one for the patron of cakes! LOL! :)
I love learning about the saints' lives with my children. I grew up in a Catholic home, but never heard too much about the inspirational lives of the saints, unfortunately, so I am learning so much with my children. Their testimonies and love for God and our Catholic faith has made my faith stronger. Each saint's story is fascinating and they gave up so much to pass on the faith. I am so grateful for these real life heroes and role models that my family can look up to and learn about!
Thanks for linking up this post to our No Ordinary Blog Hop!
Have a blessed day!
