Personal Shopping

I have been doing some decluttering of my closet in an effort to keep our family closet neat and tidy.  I was marveling at how a good majority of my wardrobe had been around for a while, quite a while in fact.  Some of it was looking downright shabby.

I don’t particularly enjoy shopping and lately, if it’s not something I can throw into my cart at Wal.mart or Tar.get, it’s not finding its way into my closet.  While I love being a mom of six, I don’t always want to look like a mom of six.  Or I guess, the stereotype of what a mom of six looks like.  I just don’t think I have to slog my way through the busy years of young kids in sweatpants!

While I realize there are far more important things to worry about than what clothing I’m going to wear for the day, I do think what I wear matters.  If I put a skirt on, my kids notice right away.  My job as mom is an important one and I should treat it as such.

To make a long story short, I needed some help in the clothing department.  Enter Betty Beguiles.  After answering a short questionnaire about my style preferences, she proceeded to put together a fabulous collection of clothing, just for me.  Go check out what she did!

I highly recommend doing this for yourself or someone you love, it was a great experience, and Hallie was so easy and fun to work with.  Do yourself a huge favor and give it a try, you won’t be sorry.

I really want her to do some shopping for me! A little more weight to lose and I will be ready to overhaul my wardrobe.

One thing I have realized lately is that paying a little more for good quality clothes is definitely worth it. I have some skirts and dresses that I have acquired over the past two years that I love although now they are too big for me. Enter the tailor. It’s worth it to me to pay to have things altered if I really like it. Besides, I really can’t bear to give away a $75 skirt. :)

Kimberlie- go for it! Working with Hallie was so fun and easy. I agree that it is worth it to buy a few quality pieces that will last a long time.

OH, how I need help in this area, as well. I find myself wearing things that I wouldn’t have been caught dead in five years ago. Mommy-hood has set in with a vengeance. Thanks for sharing. Your outfit are TOO cute!
