Homeschool Mother’s Journal :: 4/13/2012

The Homeschool Mother's Journal
In our homeschool this week…I’m planning our remaining weeks.  The kids are all on track to finish their items  {ie Math U See books} by the end of June.  We won’t get through all of our Christian Studies or Latin, but we will pick up where we left off in August.
Places we’re going and people we’re seeing…we saw our out of town family last weekend.  The kids were thrilled to get together with cousins and are counting down the days until we see them again in July.
My favorite thing this week was…celebrating my husband’s birthday.
What’s not working for us…eating Easter candy, glad it’s out of the house!
Things I’m working on…getting some new activities together for the younger kids
I’m reading…I just finished reading Growing Up Amish, still reading What’s Eating Your Child, and I’m starting to reread The Connected Child.
I’m cooking…Since brunch on Easter morning, not much of anything!  We had a couple of gift cards that we used up, one for P.F. Chang’s which I think is one of my favorite restaurants.  We went out for the birthday dinner on Thursday and we have eaten leftovers.  Next week we get back to real life and home cooked meals.
I’m grateful for…a husband who takes good care of his health.

    Hi Jen! I did a post about my 1st graders work binder at http://oursideofthemtn.blogspot.com/2011/12/whats-work-binder.html. Let me know if you have questions! I’ll read your weekly wrap-up later. I have a girl waiting for the computer! LOL

    That’s great that you are going to finish your math books! I’m not sure how many books we will actually finish, but we are getting there. I will probably do some “mild” school during the summer to finish some things I would have liked to finish during the year. I hope your husband had a wonderful birthday! God bless!

    Our Easter candy keeps multiplying! I don’t know where it is all coming from. It.has.got.to.go!! Your reading list sounds interesting. I am going to have to take a look at those books.

    I love PF Changs too, especially the appetizers:) good for you to plan ahead the rest of your school year. Now that our house is cleaner, time to get organized in the school arena;-)

    Ha! I can relate to the Easter Candy thing…..some of ours had to “disappear” when people weren’t looking.

    I seem to go in spurts with reading. Never have as much time as I would like, but you know how that goes!!

    Patty, just between you and me I managed to extend it through the entire week ;) It was great, for a short period of time anyway.

    Also- thanks for the links! I have seen Dianne Craft in the past, but had not thought to look back. I am looking through her site and the other two today.
