Weekly Photo Collage :: 11/30/2012 On to Advent

We had a nice Thanksgiving and now it's on to Advent and Christmas!

1.  Cousins were in town last week, the last day we were all together we went bowling.  Right before that though we had pictures taken, that's why the boys are wearing matching shirts!  I should have taken more photos last week.

2.  I was playing around with my camera a bit while I was also folding laundry and doing some geography with Jacob.  He really wasn't too thrilled about having his picture taken.

3.  Our wall map is probably our most utilized home school resource.  It won't win any awards from Better Homes & Gardens, but it's very functional.  We seem to look something up on the map at least once per day.

4.  Yes, that's a photo of my very unexciting laundry room.  I took a photo because I was so excited to be caught up.  Normally, I do stay pretty caught up with my laundry, but the last week or so with family in town, the holiday, and the complete switch from summer laundry to winter laundry, I just couldn't stay caught up!  Finally, I did it, for about 3.2 seconds anyway.

5.  I tried a new crockpot recipe this week.  Bean and rice stuffed peppers, it was good to eat and looked purty in the crock pot too.  Easy to make and the recipe would be fun to play around with.

6.  My favorite afternoon snack.

7.  I wrapped up National Adoption Month on the blog.  Thanks to all those who ordered Beachbody products, I had my best month ever and I look forward to writing a check to Reece's Rainbow next week!

8.  My Advent reading for this year, In Conversation with God.  Last year I linked up with some other wonderful blogging ladies to share our Advent Traditions, go take a peek!

9.  My favorite resource this week - Education.com I have found a ton of things to go along with what we are working on as well as a few fun worksheets.  I add them to the kids clipboards and they can work on them through the week.

Recently we have gotten hooked on a tv series called Justified.  We don't have cable or watch much tv, but we heard about this series and ordered it through Netflix.  It's not family viewing, but we are digging an episode or two after the kids go to bed.

Be sure to check out Mary's Lego post, she is offering a free lesson plan for teaching a Lego class in a co-op, I was lucky enough to get a sneak peek and it's wonderful!  The lessons could also be used at home during your every day school.  Be sure to check it out.

Wow, a perfectly clean and empty laundry room is quite an accomplishment. I would take a photo, too, if I had one. :)

Jen -- I'm going to check out the series on Netflix. Thank you!

I hope you don't come to my house and look at my laundry. I am nowhere near caught up!

Thanks for the LEGO shoutout!

It took me three days to wash all the trip clothes. That doesn't include the every day clothes we've been wearing since our trip! Are you liking your new camera?

This is funny, I benefitted from Education.com this week as well. Hooray fro great free ressources. Also your son looking at that map, could have been mine. My oldest spends his time looking at maps. Saying hi from Friday Collage.

For some reason "disqus" did not like me yesterday! I guess we are okay today. ;) I love the wall map- we must have the same decorator. So glad that your kids got some good cousin time in! And that food looks delicious.
