Our Move to Florida – Collage Friday

Needless to say it’s been a very busy couple of weeks, but we are in Florida!  All in all, everything has gone smoothly.  We are settling in and Florida is starting to feel like home.
During all of the move craziness, Sarah managed to earn her black belt in Tae Kwon Do.  She even broke cement!  We are so proud of her perseverance and hard work.  She just never gives up.
On the way down to Florida, we stopped in Marietta Georgia for the night.  We had dinner at the Marietta Diner.  I think we could have ordered one plate of food for all 8 of us and still had leftovers!  It was a fun experience for sure.
The next morning we had a bit of extra time before we needed to be at our destination, so we took the opportunity to visit World of Coca-Cola in Atlanta.  It’s good to have friends “in the know”.  I texted Mary to see if it was a feasible adventure for just a few hours, she assured us it was and said the kids would love tasting different drinks from around the world.

I’m glad we took the time to stop, it was a great little field trip!
We took a little break from our unpacking and headed to Sanibel/Captiva Island.  We had lunch at one of our favorite places to eat and then spent the day at the beach.
Then it was back to reality and to the arrival of our moving truck.  Oy!
We haven’t started on our normal school routine yet, but the kids have been doing lots of crafting.
I need my head examined.  I’m drowning in books, yet what did I do with my birthday money? Yep, ordered more books!

We have been checking out some of the local fro yo places, Jonah has been catching creatures {we spotted a gator in our pond!} and we have been enjoying the blue skies.
Join me next week as I start a 10 day series about moving!  I share some tips and tricks, some things we did right and some things we would do differently.  Also, some great guest posts!

Have a great weekend!

You came at the perfect time of year! Blue skies and sunshine, of course, but not too hot or humid. So glad you got a chance to enjoy the trip down and to hit the beach once you got here. And so glad Florida is already starting to feel like home. What a wonderful adventure moving is. :)
