First Holy Communion Resources

March 14, 2012 by Jen 16 Comments

I have shared in a previous post about some of the resources we have used to help the children prepare for their First Holy Communion.  This year Anna is preparing for this beautiful sacrament.  She has already done her first reconciliation, {and her second!}, now we are working towards receiving Holy Communion.

We ordered the dress, and all the accessories to go along with it.  She enjoyed that portion of her preparation very much.  Of course the party is fun to look forward to as well.  We continue to remind her that while the dress, and all the stuff that goes along with it, is a very special and beautiful part of the day – the most important part is meeting Jesus in the Eucharist.

Along with some of the resources from the post above, we will be using some other items.  It’s nice to have the flexibility to tailor each child’s preparation to their particular strengths.  Anna is definitely an auditory learning, so doing most of her work orally is beneficial.  Like with Jonah, we have used the CD from St. Anne’s Helper.  Here are some further items:

Wonderful links! We don’t have any more of our own first communion kids in our future, but I do have grandkids to think about! Thanks for sharing. I had not seen the worksheets or the printing sheet.
