I recently read the book Love You More: The Divine Surprise of Adopting My Daughter. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, I felt like I was sitting on the couch having a chat with the author rather than reading her story in a book. When discussing the birthplace of her daughter and the over-all issue of orphans world wide, she grabbed my attention when she wrote "Actually, as a mother, as a person of faith, and someone who has had the privilege-and, concurrently, has been given the burden-of visiting some of the world's poorest, I am sure of it". Meaning that she can never get the plight of the "left behind" children off of her mind.
The author and her husband had three biological children when they felt called to adopt. This is a story about adoption, about transracial adoption, about the falling in love and the waiting for a child that you only have a photo of. A beautiful story of a family being formed by the miracle of adoption.
Ms. Grant goes through their process of having birth children, yet still feeling the tug that another someone, born to someone else, was destined to be in their family. She talks about the adoption process, the mounds of paperwork, the waiting. She delves into the way they chose Guatemala, finding their daughter on a waiting child list, the long ordeal of waiting for the ok to travel the first time and then being able to finally bring their daughter home. She also writes eloquently about the adjustment of adding another child to their family, the attachment dance, of finding true love with that new little person.
This book will be appealing to those who are in any stage of the adoption process, and not just an international adoption. This is also an excellent book for those discerning if adoption is the right path for their family. Actually, if your life has at any point been touched by adoption then you will find this book absorbing.
The author, Jennifer Grant, has graciously agreed to do a giveaway of her book. All you have to do to enter the giveaway for a copy of this book is to leave a comment. I will draw a winner on Wednesday, November 16, 2011.

It sounds like a lovely book, and I'm on my way to click on the author's name and check it out. Having brought my daughter home from Guatemala to our family, her story will probably resonate with similarites.

I would appreciate winning this book. Although we adopted our oldest daughter domestically (through a kinship & inter-state adoption) we have two biological children as well. I think my husband and I would both enjoy reading this new book. Thank you for the opportunity to win a copy!
