The holiday season is here and with that comes family and friends and gifts and food! Â Yes, lots and lots of food. Â
Have you been to Trader Joe’s lately? Â We went the other day and everywhere I looked there were cute little packages of frosted gingerbread cookies, chocolate covered marshmallows, chocolate truffles, and don’t forget the candy cane o’s, have you ever tried those? Yum! Â All of the items are labeled “limited edition” to heighten the frenzy so we will be sure to buy early and often. Â
Don’t get me wrong none of those items are bad, actually Trader Joe’s does a good job of keeping their food items free of a lot of junk. Â Let’s face it though, sugar isn’t the best for us, and doesn’t do our waist line any favors.
It’s tough to navigate through the holidays and say no to everything, but I find I do best when I just avoid the temptation completely.  If it doesn’t go in my cart, it doesn’t go in my cupboards, and it it’s not in the cupboard I can’t eat it!  Some people can do things in moderation, but when it comes to sweets and other crunchy carbs, I generally lack self-control.
I have made a conscious effort to decrease the number of desserts I make around the house, and if I do make them, instead of doubling like I used to, I sometimes cut the recipe in half. Â That way we can each have one brownie instead of five.
So what does this have to do with the 10 Day Challenge? Â Starting today, and every first Monday of each month I will be holding a 10 Day Challenge. Â It’s so simple and easy to participate. Â For 10 days the participant will replace one meal with a Shakeology shake – {the healthiest meal of the day} and follow a meal plan that is provided, plus exercise 8 out of 10 days. Â Shakeology is not a junky, chemical-filled, meal replacement drink that you can purchase at the grocery store, it’s a nutrient dense drink low in sugar and calories and high in prebiotics/probiotics, fiber and protein. Â The meal plan is easy to follow, no gourmet meals and nothing weird that can’t be purchased at the regular grocery. Â As for the exercise, anything can work – walking, running, swimming, yoga. Â All for only 10 days, how easy is that???
The other added piece of the 10 Day Challenge is the support and accountability from myself and other challengers.
My next group starts on January 7th, contact me for more information. Â Start your new year on the right track.
Maybe 10 Days is not enough and a 21 Day program is needed? Â The Ultimate Reset is the ticket.

Ummm…that sandwich looks ridiculous. If you want to bring me one of those every day for 10 days, I would be all over that challenge 🙂
