I asked the kids for their input regarding which study they wanted to work on and they chose Italy. This study will easily last us through the next couple of weeks. A great deal is packed into each day. All of my kids have been able to participate in some fashion, it's nice to all be working together for a portion of our school day.
The big kids have still been doing their independent work, i.e. math, handwriting, reading. We have been doing more reading aloud time too. We're still working through Johnny Tremain - it's a long book, but interesting.
Over the weekend we worked on our goals. I decided to put the poster up in our bedroom, because everyone is in and out of our room a few times a day. That way the goals can stay front and center throughout the year. We have made goals for several years now, and I was pleasantly surprised with the goals that the older kids came up with.
Bob and I celebrated our anniversary this week:
What I'm Reading:
Raising Positive Kids in a Negative World - author Zig Ziglar has a great way of looking at the world, and our children. I'm thoroughly enjoying the book.
Just Stay Fat Then - Short, no frills book about losing weight, it will make you laugh! I got it when it was free for Kindle, but it still is free to borrow if you are a Prime member
On the Blog:
Leftover Soup - my "top secret" recipe for soup
Vegan Freak - our journey to a bit more weirdness

Happy anniversary!! We're at 32 years on Thursday next week. I love that you decided to be flexible and change it up a bit. Sometimes a change up can refresh everyone!
