Summer Break: Homeschooling & Blogging

Summer Break: Homeschooling & Blogging

We are wrapping up our homeschool year this week.  Some what anyway.

My blogging will be a little bit sporadic over the next couple of months.  The kids are busy, which makes me busy, we will all be doing some traveling, not to mention the fact that we are moving again! Is it sad that I have plans to move my homeschool materials first? I’m itching to get our new space set up.

Plus, I need to get our plan in place for our new year, more on that at the bottom.

July in particular will be quiet here, but then watch out for August! All the back to school goodness will erupt.  Don’t forget about the Not Back to School hop with iHomeschool Network and I will also be doing a Back to School in Florida post with several other Florida bloggers – should be a fun month!

Three reviews coming up this summer:

1.  A Plan in Place – Customizable planners for students and moms! Look for my review in early June.

2.  Pearson – I’m reviewing 1st grade math with my youngest, Levi.  Watch for that review in late June.

3.  Fortuigence – My oldest is working through the Expository Essay course.  This is working well for us and Jacob is learning a great deal.  If writing is something that you haven’t done too much of yet, I highly recommend this resource.  Review is coming in August.

Posts to Help with Homeschool Planning

I’m seriously contemplating planning out our homeschool year in one fell swoop.  Even though it seems a bit intimidating to plan an entire year for six students, I think the benefits will out weigh the hair pulling that will surely ensue.  It sure would be nice to forego the Sunday night scramble each week though.

I have been doing a bit of reading on how others plan for the year.  It’s doable.  I just need to make the time to make it happen.
