1. Pray – We don’t make major life decisions, or any decisions really, without lots of prayer. Before, during, and after our move, prayer has been our constant companion.
2. Exercise – If you’ve read this blog for any length of time you know I’m a big believer in exercise! It does so much good for our bodies, our brains and really helps to keep stress levels low. Do not let this important part of your day go by the wayside while moving. Your body will thank you and so will those around you! It was easy to stick with out current workout program T25 – only 25 minutes per day and minimal weights necessary.
3. Take a Break – Sometimes enough is enough and you just need a break. Go do something fun and get away from the boxes and the mess. I know we are often driven to get everything done as soon as possible {yours truly included}, but sometimes the most productive thing we can do is get away from it all for a bit, have some laughs, get out some pent up energy and we come back to the task more focused than before.
4. Adjust Expectations – Expect everyone to be out of sorts. Changes in sleep schedules, eating habits, living out a suitcase causes people to not always be on their best behavior. Realize that up front and let some things go. Expect the unexpected and roll with the punches. Everyone will be much happier.
5. Sleep – Don’t run yourself down with lack of sleep. Lack of sleep leads to less patience and a lowered immunity. No one wants to be sick during a big move. Start packing/prepping early and don’t make late night packing a habit.
