Third Sunday of Advent

The third Sunday of Advent is known as Guadete Sunday.  Guadete means “rejoice” in Latin.  We are rejoicing because the Lord is almost here!  Guadete Sunday is when the pink, or rose, colored candle is lit.

The church says rejoice – so we did!  We spent the day decorating cookies and decorating our Christmas tree.

I went the very easy route this year and bought our cookies to decorate.  What a time saver!  The kids were able to spend time on the part they enjoyed the most, decorating, and it was a lot less work for me.

I did, however, make frosting.

The kids were thrilled with their creations and happily dropped them off around the neighborhood.
We finished up the tree as well.  I find it kind of ironic that when we lived in Michigan we almost always had an artificial tree.  Then we moved to Florida and bought a live tree this year!

Our artificial tree did not make the move with us from MI.  We had a flocked tree that I was more than happy to get rid of – heed my warning and don’t ever purchase a flocked tree!
I’m just about done checking off my list of things to do.  The biggest task this week will be getting presents wrapped.  My parents arrive on Sunday and we are so anxious for them to get here.

Wishing you continued Advent blessings as we wait for the arrival of our Lord.

Your tree looks just beautiful! The cookies…how fun! I bet they enjoyed delivering them and that the neighbors were happy to meet their new neighbors :) This Sunday? It will be here before you know it. So exciting!

Merry Christmas! Your tree is beautiful. And, I agree with you…whatever you can do to make the season easier is great by me.

Merry Christmas! We had our first year with a fake tree- not flocked. :) And no cookies for us. :( Sometimes you just have to let go. I think about your family often! Praying your great adventure is going well!
